Our dream is to get more residents and friends moving and walking on the South Side. We want to increase health & wellness, foster social connection, and promote pride, safety, and a sense of community among our South Side neighbors.

We will highlight and celebrate the assets of the area so that Parsons Avenue is experienced as a gateway to rich cultural and community experiences. After all, the South Side is so much more than a series of bus stops.

Join the South Side Walk Watch and see the neighborhood with new eyes!

The South Side Walk Watch is a walking group that meets monthly at a South Side neighborhood gathering spot.

Prior to heading out for a 1- to 2-mile group walk through South Side neighborhoods and parks, the group will have the opportunity to hear a brief presentation from a South Side leader or local personality -- this is how we get to know what’s going on.

After the walk, we gather for informal socializing and community-building at a South Side coffee shop or cafe -- this is how we get to know each other.

Though the South Side Walk Watch gathering places and walking routes rotate to someplace new each month, they always center along the Parsons Avenue Corridor.

Walks take place on the second Saturday of every month at 10 am. They start and end at the same location. After the walk, stay to enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee and hear from a guest speaker.
